What’s included in the cost-savings report

Built from your invoices, not a benchmark. Every finding names the line, the reason and the number.

  1. Free cost-savings report

Three months of invoices in; a line-by-line report back. No fee, no obligation.

  2. Lane & mode analysis

Every lane you shipped, what it cost per pallet, and where LTL should have been truckload or the reverse.

  3. Accessorial audit

Liftgate, residential, reclass, detention. Which were avoidable, which were billed twice, which were never on the quote.

  4. Storage footprint review

Positions paid for against positions used, term against turn, and what a weekly/monthly mix would cost.

  5. Carrier & contract review

Discounts, minimums and fuel surcharges checked against what the invoices actually show.

  6. Implementation plan

What to change first, what it saves, and who does it — with or without CFL.

  7. Monthly report for customers

Every CFL account gets the same report monthly: before, after, and where the difference came from.

  8. Need something not listed?

Add it to your manifest and a CFL operator prices it with the rest.

How it works

From invoices to a report you can audit

  1. Day 0

    Send invoices

Three months of freight and storage invoices, PDF or export. A short call to confirm what you ship.

  2. Audit

Lanes, modes, accessorials and positions rebuilt from the invoices. Questions go to you as they come up.

  3. Report

Line-by-line findings with the saving on each, and the implementation plan.

  4. Walk-through

A CFL operator walks you through the report. Bring the person who pays the invoices.

  5. Your call

    Decide

Act on it yourself, or hand the lines to CFL. Either way, the report is yours.

Report turnaround is set per engagement.

Pricing

The report is free. We mean the word.

No fee, no obligation, no “free with a signed contract”. If you want more than the report — network design, an on-site review — that is quoted as its own scope.

A good fit if you…

  • Suspect you overpay for freight or storage but can’t prove it from the invoices
  • Have a freight bill that grew faster than your volume
  • Use several carriers and warehouses and nobody owns the total
  • Want the maths before you move anything, from people who would run it

Consulting questions

What do I send you for a free cost-savings report?
Three months of freight invoices and, if you have them, three months of warehouse or storage invoices. PDFs are fine; a carrier export is better. Add a sentence on what you ship and where. That is it. We come back with questions if a lane or a line does not make sense.
What is a freight audit, and do I need one?
A freight audit checks what you were billed against what you agreed and what was actually delivered: rate, class, weight, accessorials and fuel. Most shippers who audit find billing errors, avoidable accessorials or lanes on the wrong mode. If you have never had your invoices checked line by line, the report is the audit.
What does the report look for?
Lanes where the mode was wrong. Accessorials that were avoidable or billed twice. Reclasses that should have been disputed. Storage positions paid for and not used, or on the wrong term. Contract discounts not applied. Each finding names the invoice line, why it cost more than it should have, and what the alternative would have cost.
Is it really free? What’s the catch?
It is free and the report is yours whether or not you ever ship with us. The reason we do it: most people who read the report and see a real number ask us to run some of the lines. Some do it themselves. Both are fine. Nothing is invoiced unless you sign a proposal for a service.
How do I reduce freight costs for a small business?
Four things, in order. Consolidate: fewer, fuller shipments beat many small ones. Get the class and dimensions right so reclass never appears. Put accessorials on the quote, not the invoice. And match the mode to the load — LTL below the break-even, truckload above it. The report shows which of the four is costing you the most.
