What’s included with CFL freight

One dispatch desk for LTL and truckload. Rate it, book it, follow it — with a person on the phone when a lane needs one.

  1. Full truckload & drayage

Any load where the LTL maths stops working. Dispatched same-day from $400.

  2. US & Canada coverage

Every state and province. Cross-border shipments carry the customs paperwork checklist before pickup.

  3. Accessorials shown first

Liftgate, residential, limited access, inside delivery and appointment fees appear on the quote, not the invoice.

  4. Pickup scheduling

Book a pickup window at your dock or the facility’s. Dispatch confirms the carrier and the window by email.

  5. Tracking & POD

Dispatch follows each shipment by PRO, BOL or PO and calls you on an exception. Signed POD on delivery.

  6. Freight class help

Send dimensions and weight and we set the class with you before booking, so reclass fees don’t appear later.

  7. Claims handling

If freight arrives short or damaged, we file and chase the claim with the carrier. You send photos; we do the rest.

  8. Need something not listed?

Add it to your manifest and a CFL operator prices it with the rest.

How it works

From rate to signed delivery receipt

  1. Rate

Send the lane, weight and class; the LTL or truckload quote comes back with every accessorial shown. Save it, share it or book it.

  2. Same day

    Book

Confirm the pickup window and the BOL is generated. Dispatch assigns the carrier and sends confirmation.

  3. Pickup

Driver arrives inside the window. Pallet count and condition noted on the BOL at the dock.

  4. Lane-dependent

    In transit

Tracking updates at every scan. Exceptions trigger an alert and a call from dispatch.

  5. On delivery

    POD

Signed proof of delivery sent to you. Invoice matches the quote.

Transit times depend on the lane and service level and are shown on every quote.

Pricing

The rate you see is the rate you pay.

LTL is priced by lane, weight and class from a $150 minimum; truckload and drayage by lane and trailer from $400, dispatched same-day. Every accessorial is itemised on the quote so the invoice reconciles line for line.

A good fit if you…

  • Ship one to 26 pallets at a time, regionally or coast to coast
  • Want every accessorial on the quote, not the invoice
  • Ship into Canada and want the customs paperwork handled with the booking
  • Would rather quote, store and consolidate on one account than juggle three vendors

Freight questions

LTL vs full truckload — when is it cheaper to book the whole truck?
LTL charges you for the space and weight you use, so it wins for one to roughly ten pallets. Truckload charges for the whole trailer, so once a shipment reaches about 12 pallets, or 15,000 lb, or the LTL quote starts stacking accessorials, the truck is often cheaper and always faster, because it goes direct with no terminal handling. LTL carries a $150 minimum; truckload and drayage are dispatched same-day from $400 to any location in the US or Canada. The portal rates both on one screen. Run the quote both ways and the break-even is on the page.
Who actually hauls the freight?
CFL arranges and manages the move; the freight is hauled by contracted carriers holding their own operating authority. Dispatch verifies each carrier’s authority and insurance before the load is tendered, and CFL stays your single point of contact from the quote to the signed proof of delivery. If something goes wrong in transit, you call us, not the carrier.
What are LTL accessorial charges?
Fees for anything beyond a dock-to-dock move during business hours: liftgate at pickup or delivery, residential or limited-access addresses, inside delivery, delivery appointments, redelivery, and detention when a driver waits. On our quote they are listed as separate lines before you book. If a fee appears at delivery that was not on the quote, dispatch checks the carrier’s notes before it reaches your invoice.
How do I avoid LTL reclass fees?
Reclass happens when the carrier weighs and measures the freight and it does not match the BOL. Give us accurate dimensions, weight and packaging, and we set the freight class with you before booking. Palletise and shrink-wrap so the footprint is what the BOL says. If a carrier reclasses a shipment we quoted, we pull the inspection certificate and dispute it on your behalf.
Can you ship pallets from the US to Canada?
Yes. LTL and truckload move into every Canadian province. Before pickup we send the customs checklist: commercial invoice, Canada customs invoice or equivalent, the importer of record and the broker of record. Transit and border clearance times are shown on the quote.
What is the difference between a BOL and a PRO number?
The bill of lading is the contract for the shipment: shipper, consignee, pallet count, weight, class and any accessorials. It is created when you book. The PRO number is the carrier’s tracking number, assigned at pickup. Either one, or your own PO number, is all dispatch needs to find the shipment.
