Cost and pricing
How is pallet storage priced?
Per pallet position, per month: the first 30 days are free, then $25.00 per pallet per month. Receiving and handling out are priced as their own lines, so storage is never folded into a handling charge. How a storage account is billed →What storage really costs →
What do parcel rates start at?
Parcels are priced per package by carrier zone and billable weight, from $7.09, for parcels of 1 to 85 lb. The full rate card, zones 2 to 8, is published on the parcel shipping page; heavier or oversized parcels are quoted.Parcel rate card →Glossary: dimensional weight →
What is the minimum charge for an LTL shipment?
LTL starts from a $150.00 minimum. Above it, the rate is set by the lane, the weight and the freight class, and any accessorials are listed on the quote before you book.LTL and truckload pricing →How LTL is priced →
How much does a truckload or drayage move cost?
Truckload and drayage start from $400.00, dispatched same-day to any location in the US or Canada. Beyond that, the rate is quoted per lane and per trailer.LTL and truckload pricing →Drayage, demurrage and detention →
What does same-day delivery cost?
A same-day run starts from $400.00, quoted per run on distance and pallet count, for deliveries within 100 miles of a facility. Waiting time is free for the first 2 hours, then $100.00 an hour; liftgate and inside delivery are $100.00 each per stop.Same-day pricing →
Are accessorials included in the quoted rate?
They are itemised, not hidden. Liftgate, residential or limited-access delivery, inside delivery, appointments, redelivery and detention each appear as a separate line on the quote before you book, so the invoice can be checked line for line. The current LTL and truckload accessorial ranges are on the freight service page.Freight accessorial rates →Every accessorial, explained →

How California Fulfillment works
Who runs the warehouses?
Operating partners. Inventory is received, stored and shipped by the partner’s team in a partner-run warehouse; CFL arranges where it goes and stays your point of contact for the account.Warehousing & storage →About CFL →
Does CFL operate its own trucks?
No. Transportation is arranged and managed by CFL dispatch and performed by contracted carriers holding their own operating authority. CFL stays the single accountable party from quote to proof of delivery. Dispatch checks each carrier’s operating authority and insurance before a load is tendered.LTL & truckload freight →Glossary: motor carrier →
Who is my point of contact?
CFL. Your CFL contact handles quotes, bookings and questions across storage and transportation, so you are not chasing a warehouse and a carrier separately. If something goes wrong, you call CFL, and CFL takes it up with the partner or the carrier.Contact CFL →3PL solutions →

Freight basics
How is freight class set?
Freight class is one of 18 NMFC classes, from 50 to 500, set by density, stowability, handling and liability; for most commodities, density decides it. Weigh and measure the pallet, divide the weight by the cubic feet and read the class from the density table, or use the commodity’s NMFC item number where it has one.Glossary: freight class →How class is set →
When should I ship LTL instead of truckload?
LTL suits roughly one to six pallets: the shipment shares a trailer, moves through carrier terminals and is priced by class, weight and distance. Truckload buys the whole trailer and goes dock to dock, and usually wins from about twelve pallets or 10,000 to 15,000 lb. In between, compare a volume LTL or partial truckload quote on the actual lane.Glossary: volume LTL →Where the break-even sits →
What counts as an accessorial?
Any carrier charge for service beyond a standard dock-to-dock pickup and delivery: liftgate, residential or limited-access addresses, inside delivery, appointments, redelivery, detention, and reweigh or reclass fees. Declared at booking, they are priced on the quote; added by the carrier afterwards, they arrive as corrections on the invoice.Glossary: accessorial →Every accessorial, explained →
What happens if a shipment is reclassed?
The carrier has found a different class, weight or dimensions than the BOL shows, usually with a dimensioner at the terminal. It re-rates the shipment, often adds an inspection fee and bills the difference after delivery. Ask for the inspection record to check it; accurate weights, measured dimensions and the NMFC item number on the BOL prevent most reclasses.Glossary: reclass →Avoiding a reclass →
What is the difference between demurrage and detention?
Demurrage is charged while a loaded container stays inside the terminal past its free time; detention, also called per diem, is charged while the container is outside the terminal past its free days, until it is returned empty. Both accrue daily, so the drayage plan should start from the last free day.Glossary: last free day →Drayage, demurrage and detention →
Why did a parcel cost more than its weight suggests?
Usually dimensional weight: length × width × height in inches, divided by the carrier’s DIM divisor. Carriers bill whichever is greater, actual or dimensional weight, so a large, light carton is charged for its size. Divisors vary by carrier and contract, so check them before comparing parcel rates.Glossary: dimensional weight →Parcel shipping →

Government buying
How is California Fulfillment’s size status determined?
Size is determined per solicitation against the NAICS size standard the contracting officer assigns, and CFL represents it in each offer rather than claiming small-business status across the board. For State of California work, CFL is not certified as a DGS Small Business; state SB set-asides are reached as a subcontractor to a certified prime.Compliance & certifications →State of California →
Which NAICS codes does CFL list?
Primary NAICS 493110 (General Warehousing and Storage), with 561910 (Packaging and Labeling Services), 541614 (Process, Physical Distribution, and Logistics Consulting), 488999 (Other Support Activities for Transportation), 424130 (Industrial and Personal Service Paper Merchant Wholesalers) and 423850 (Service Establishment Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers). Transportation is arranged through contracted carriers holding their own operating authority; trucking and freight-arrangement codes are taken as a subcontractor or teaming partner only.NAICS and PSC tables →Capability statement →
How does CFL provide past performance?

Where should a contracting officer or prime send a requirement?
To the contracts desk on the government contracting page. Include the notice or solicitation ID, the place of performance and the period of performance; sources-sought notices, RFQs, RFIs and teaming requests all go to the same desk.Contracts desk →Federal agencies →
